# Furloughed from Spirit Airlines? Get your logbook interview-ready

A practical checklist for Spirit Airlines pilots preparing for interviews after a furlough or layoff: what recruiters ask for, how to fill in missing tail numbers and block times, and how to turn a Spirit flight history into a clean, verifiable logbook.

If you are one of the Spirit Airlines pilots looking for the next seat, your logbook is about to be read by people who were not there. Recruiters, interview panels, and background-check vendors want a record they can verify, and the fastest way to lose credibility in a technical interview is a logbook entry you cannot explain.

This guide is the shortest path from "years of NK flying in a logbook app" to "a record I can hand across the table".

## What interview panels actually look for

- **Consistency.** Totals that add up, dates in order, no gaps you cannot account for.
- **Verifiability.** Flight numbers, city pairs, and tail numbers that can be checked against public flight history.
- **Aircraft specifics.** Which airframe you flew, not just "A320 family". Type ratings and time-in-type questions come from this column.
- **Block times.** Out and in times that agree with the hours you claim.

Most airline logbooks are strong on the first point and weak on the second and third: company scheduling systems give you flight numbers and city pairs, and the tail number was on the release you threw away.

## Step 1: export what you have

Export your logbook from whatever app you use. LogTen Pro, ForeFlight Logbook, MyFlightbook, and Excel all work. You need four columns at minimum: date, flight number, departure airport, arrival airport. Spirit flight numbers appear as **NK 123** in some apps and as a bare **123** in others; both are fine, you tell us the airline once.

If you kept a paper logbook, a clear photo of each page also works.

## Step 2: fill in tail numbers and block times

Upload the export to [Logbook Fix](/). Every Spirit flight is looked up in the historical flight records by date, flight number, and route. For each leg you get back the registration (N-number), the aircraft type as flown, the ICAO codes for the airports, actual out and in times, and the block time.

## Step 3: settle the exceptions

A few percent of any airline logbook will not match automatically: a return to the departure airport, a diversion, two aircraft flying the same flight number on the same day, or a date typed wrong. For each of those the results page shows what the flight record says and gives you a one-click fix. Re-checks after a correction are free.

Those exceptions are exactly the entries a panel asks about. Settling them now, with the record in front of you, is the difference between "I think we diverted" and "we diverted to FLL, tail N123NK, here is the block time".

## Step 4: keep a copy you can hand over

Download the CSV and print the record. Keep the results link. If you land somewhere and keep flying, the $5 a month plan adds new flights to the same book so it never falls behind again.

## A note on time

Historical flight data is available from 2011 onward, so a Spirit career that started after that is fully coverable. Older legs stay in your logbook as you logged them; we just cannot add tails to them.
